Change Practices

CHANGE PRACTICES

Understanding how current humanitarian aid practices, processes and behaviours work, and how they need to change. Thinking more explicitly about how to design and implement new humanitarian practices that enable changes in the system or part of the system.

Questions to consider asking:

Current: Review how things are done now. What are the practices (activities, programmes, processes) within the current system?

  • How are people, teams, partners across this part of the current systemcurrently working? What practices are you doing? > Use the Three Horizons - Practices tool
  • How are these current practices currently impacting (positively and negatively) people affected by crisis and conflict?

Questions to consider asking:

Future: Think about how practices need to change to deliver on the new purpose. What needs to change; what needs to stop; what needs to start to support a change to happen?
